Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 1/2 c. plain flour
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 c. jam
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Sift flour, spices and salt.
    Add soda to buttermilk.
    Add flour mixture to buttermilk.
    Add eggs, one at a time; beat after each addition.
    Add jam and blend into batter with wooden spoon.
    Bake 3 (9-inch) layers at 325\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
