Rosemarie'S Apple Cider Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. apple cider
    8 whole cloves
    18 caramels
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. rum or 2 Tbsp. rum extract or to taste
Preparation
    Bring to a boil the apple cider, brown sugar and cloves.
    Add caramels.
    When melted, add rum.
    Serve with whipped topping, while warm.
