Cucumber Crisp Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 lb. cucumbers, sliced
    3 c. pickling lime
    5 lb. sugar
    4 pt. apple vinegar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    allspice
    ground cloves
    ginger
    2 gal. water
Preparation
    Make a syrup of 5 pounds sugar to 4 pints of apple vinegar. Tie cinnamon, allspice, ground cloves and ginger in a bag.
    Add to syrup.
    Bring to a boil and cook to dissolve sugar.
    Soak cucumbers in lime water about 10 to 12 hours (overnight).
