Buttermilk Congealed Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. jello (any flavor)
    1 (9 oz.) container Cool Whip
    1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple
    1 c. chopped pecans
    2 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Put pineapple and jello (I prefer strawberry) in a pot and heat until jello is dissolved.
    Cool until it is the consistency of mayonnaise.
    Add pecans and buttermilk; mix well.
    Fold in Cool Whip.
    Refrigerate until congealed.
    Cut in squares and serve on lettuce or serve as a dessert.
