Shrimp Gumbo - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 sticks butter
1 c. chopped onion
1 c. chopped green pepper
1 (10 oz.) can tomatoes
1 bay leaf
1 Tbsp. rosemary leaves
1 tsp. sweet basil
1 tsp. leaf thyme
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
10 c. hot water
1 lb. crabmeat (optional)
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. chopped celery
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen cut okra
1 Tbsp. salt
1 Tbsp. crushed red pepper
1 tsp. oregano
1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 lb. shrimp, peeled and washed
Preparation

Melt butter in 5 1/2-quart Dutch oven; add flour.
Mix thoroughly.
Stir mixture continually until very dark brown, but not scorched.
Add onions, celery, green pepper, okra and tomatoes.
Blend all ingredients well.
Add remaining ingredients, except shrimp and crabmeat.
Stir thoroughly.
Cook over medium heat for 25 minutes.
Add shrimp and crabmeat.
Cook for 20 minutes more.
Yield:
12 servings.
