Doughnuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. milk
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    2 eggs
Preparation
    Sift flour, baking powder, salt and spices together.
    Cream the shortening.
    Add sugar slowly and cream until fluffy.
    Stir in well beaten eggs.
    Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk. Place 1 cup shortening in a deep fryer.
    Heat until 1-inch bread cube will brown when dropped in.
    Turn dough out on a floured board.
    Roll out a small amount at a time.
    Cut with a doughnut cutter and drop in hot shortening.
    Let brown and remove immediately.
    Keep shortening hot enough so the doughnuts will not soak it up.
    Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
