Ellen'S Celery Bake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. celery, diced
    1/4 c. almonds, slivered
    1/2 c. water chestnuts, sliced
    5 Tbsp. butter
    3 Tbsp. plain flour
    1 c. chicken broth
    3/4 c. half and half
    1/2 c. mushrooms, halved
    salt and pepper
    dash of Worcestershire sauce
    1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
    1/2 c. Ritz cracker crumbs
Preparation
    Parboil celery until almost tender.
    Drain and put into a 1 1/2-quart casserole with almonds and water chestnuts.
    Melt butter in saucepan; add flour and stir until smooth.
    Slowly stir in broth and half and half.
    Stir over low heat until thickened.
    Add mushrooms, salt, pepper and Worcestershire.
    Pour over celery. Sprinkle with cheese and crumbs.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until hot and bubbly.
    Serves 6.
