Mamaw Bill'S Boiled Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 eggs
    2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    3 1/2 qt. milk
Preparation
    Scald the milk.
    Beat the eggs.
    Mix the cornstarch and sugar together.
    Mix with eggs and 1/2 quart of the milk.
    Then blend with the 3 quarts of scalded milk on the stove.
    Cook slowly until mixture coats spoon.
    Refrigerate a glass to chicken thickness. If lumpy, beat with electric mixer.
    Add vanilla to taste, about 1 teaspoon per 16 ounce glass.
