Potato Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 5 medium potatoes
    1/2 lb. smoked bacon
    1 c. flour
    1 egg
    1 to 2 Tbsp. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 or 5 c. water
Preparation
    For Dumplings:
    Combine flour, egg and salt and mix with fork. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water until mixture holds together. Roll out on well floured surface and cut into 2 x 2-inch squares and set aside.
    Cut potatoes in bite size pieces.
    Boil bacon in kettle (I use Dutch oven) and add potatoes to boiling water and cook until tender.
    Slowly add dumplings, stirring constantly so they don't stick.
    Reduce heat and cook 25 to 30 minutes and serve.
