Date Creole Roll - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    2 c. sliced dates
    1 c. milk
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cook milk and sugar over low heat.
    Stir until sugar is dissolved.
    Continue cooking until soft ball stage is reached. Add dates.
    Cook two or three minutes more.
    Remove from heat. Cool until lukewarm.
    Add nuts.
    Stir until real thick.
    Turn out on a piece of wet cloth and roll to form roll.
    Place in refrigerator.
    Slice to serve.
