Pineapple Filling - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. cornstarch or flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2/3 c. sugar
1 (No. 2) can strained pineapple
reserved pineapple juice
1 egg yolk
Preparation

Mix cornstarch, salt and sugar.
Stir in pineapple juice. Heat on low until thickens.
Mix small portion of thickened mixture with beaten egg yolk.
Add to saucepan and cook a minute or two.
Take off heat and stir in pineapple.
Delicious between yellow cake layers.
