Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 to 10 cucumbers, cut in spears
    5 garlic cloves
    5 big pieces dill
    2 qt. water
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. salt
    1 c. vinegar
Preparation
    In pot, bring water, sugar, salt and vinegar to a boil. Remove from heat.
    Cool.
    In large container, pour cooled liquid over cucumbers, garlic and dill.
    Let stand for 1 day without a lid.
