Divinity - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1/2 c. hot water
1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
2 egg whites, beaten stiff
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 to 1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Combine sugar, syrup, water and salt in saucepan.
Cook, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves and mixture boils.
Cook with stirring to hard ball stage or 250\u00b0.
Wipe crystals from side of pan with damp cloth or paper towel.
Remove from heat.
Slowly pour hot syrup over egg whites, beating constantly.
Add vanilla. Beat until mixture holds its shape.
Stir in nuts.
Drop by teaspoon onto waxed paper or pour into pan and cut into squares when cool.
