Spice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
1 c. sour milk*
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Cream sugar and butter together until fluffy.
Add eggs and beat until light.
Sift together all dry ingredients, then add them alternately with the milk to the creamed mixture, beating well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla.
Pour into greased layer pans or a 9 x 13-inch cake pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
