Joe'S Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. sugar (3 Tbsp.)
    1/4 c. salt (1 Tbsp.)
    1 qt. vinegar (1 c.)
    3 qt. water (3 c.)
    red chili peppers
    dill
    1 ball garlic
    1 bay leaf
Preparation
    Simmer sugar, salt, vinegar and water together; cool.
    Wash and dry enough cukes to fill a gallon jar.
    Arrange with layers of cukes, dill, garlic and hot peppers until jar is full.
    Pour cooled juice over and refrigerate.
    Good to eat in about 1 week.
