Old World Dumplings(German) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 medium potatoes or the amount family will eat
    oleo
    dash of nutmeg
    1 egg
    flour (to make a stiff dough)
Preparation
    Put peeled potatoes in boiling soup and boil until done. Remove to bowl and mash.
    Add salt and oleo to taste.
    May also add nutmeg to taste at this time.
    Allow to cool.
    Add the unbeaten egg and enough flour to make a stiff dough.
    Drop by spoon into boiling soup.
    To make them easier to drop, dip spoon in soup, then scoop dough to drop.
    Continue cooking for a short time until done, but not falling apart.
