Garden Supper Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. cubed soft bread
1/2 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
2 Tbsp. melted margarine
1 c. cooked vegetables
2 Tbsp. chopped onion
3 Tbsp. margarine
3 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 c. milk
1 c. cut up meat
1 large tomato, sliced
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Mix bread cubes, cheese and 2 tablespoons margarine.
Spread 1/2 the mixture in greased 1-quart casserole; top with vegetables.
Cook and stir onion in 3 tablespoons of butter until onion is tender.
Blend in flour and seasoning.
Cook over low heat, stirring, until mixture is bubbly.
Remove from heat.
Stir in milk.
Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
Boil and stir for 1 minute.
Stir in meat.
Pour over vegetables. Arrange tomato slices on top; sprinkle with remaining bread mixture.
Bake, uncovered, for 25 minutes.
