Chow-Chow(Hayden'S Salad) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. ripe tomatoes, chopped
    1 gal. cabbage, chopped
    1 qt. onions
    1 c. salt
    6 ripe sweet peppers, chopped
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    2 tsp. celery seed
    2 tsp. dry mustard
    2 tsp. allspice
    2 tsp. cloves
    2 tsp. turmeric
    3 lb. sugar
    1/2 gal. vinegar
    1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Mix first five ingredients and let stand one hour.
    Drain well.
    Add remaining ingredients, except flour and vinegar. Flour is to be mixed with a little vinegar before adding to mixture.
    Let boil about 40 minutes.
    Seal while hot.
