Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. margarine
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 c. milk
3 c. quick cooking oats
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Mix sugar, butter, cocoa and milk in a saucepan.
Bring to a boil quickly.
Reduce heat to medium and boil 3 or 4 minutes or until a little dropped into cold water forms a soft ball (234\u00b0). Remove from heat.
Stir in rolled oats, nuts and vanilla.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper.
Let stand until hardened.
Store in refrigerator, if desired.
