Mom'S Raisin Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. raisins
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 3/4 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
    2 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Pour 1 1/2 cups boiling water over raisins with 2 tablespoons butter. Set aside until cool.
    Beat together sugar, egg and vanilla. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix well with egg mixture.
    Grease a 9 x 5 x 3-inch bread pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes.
