Caramel Popcorn - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
6 qt. popped corn
peanuts (optional)
Preparation

Melt butter in saucepan.
Add sugar, corn syrup and salt. Stir continuously until mixture comes to a boil.
Let mixture boil without stirring for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat.
Stir in baking soda and vanilla.
Slowly pour caramel over popped corn and optional peanuts.
Mix well.
Spread on 2 large baking pans. Bake, stirring every 15 minutes (250\u00b0 for 1 hour).
Remove from oven and break apart.
Store in covered container.
Yields 6 quarts.
