Cabbage Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. lean ham
    1 medium onion
    3 medium potatoes, diced
    1 can tomatoes
    1/4 c. raw rice
    1 qt. water
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    2 c. shredded cabbage
Preparation
    Dice ham and onions; saute in large cooking pot on medium heat until onion is clear and slightly brown.
    Add water, tomatoes, potatoes, cabbage and rice.
    Cook about 1/2 hour or until vegetables are tender.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
