Chicken Gumbo - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 lb.) chicken
    2 qt. water
    3 Tbsp. butter
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 red pepper (bell), chopped
    1 1/2 lb. sliced okra
    1 c. diced celery or onion
    1 (28 oz.) can peeled tomatoes
    1 (18 oz.) can corn
    2 tsp. chopped parsley
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 c. rice, cooked
Preparation
    Cook chicken in water until tender.
    Remove from water.
    Cool. Debone and tear meat into pieces.
    Melt butter in large saucepan. Stir in flour.
    Cook.
    Stir until golden brown.
    Add vegetables and chicken broth.
    Cook vegetables until tender and gumbo is thick.
    Add chicken, rice, parsley and sugar.
    Season to taste. Serves 6.
