Banana Nut Cake - cooking recipe

2 1/2 c. sifted Softasilk flour
1 2/3 c. sugar
1 1/4 tsp. double action baking powder
1 1/4 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. shortening
2/3 c. buttermilk
2 eggs
1 1/4 c. mashed bananas
2/3 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Sift together dry ingredients into bowl.
Add 1/3 cup buttermilk, shortening and mashed bananas.
Beat 2 minutes.
Add 1/3 cup buttermilk and eggs.
Beat 2 minutes.
Fold in nuts.
Bake at 350\u00b0 in round pans 30 to 35 minutes, in 9 x 13-inch pan, 45 minutes.
