Hard Candy - cooking recipe
Ingredients

powdered sugar
3 3/4 c. granulated sugar
1 1/2 c. light Karo corn syrup
1 c. water
1 tsp. flavoring oil
food coloring
Preparation

Sprinkle 18 x 24-inch strip of heavy foil with powdered sugar. Mix granulated sugar, Karo and water in large saucepan.
Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
Boil without stirring until temperature reaches 310\u00b0, or until drops of syrup form hard and brittle threads in cold water.
Remove from heat.
Stir in flavored oil and coloring.
Pour onto foil; break in pieces.
Sprinkle with plenty of powdered sugar so it won't stick together.
Store in airtight containers.
