Dill Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

13 c. water
3 c. vinegar
1 c. plain salt
Preparation

Bring to a boil the water, salt and vinegar. Pour over medium cucumbers that have been packed into 1/2-gallon jars along with the following: To each jar, place large bunch of fresh dill weed, 3 cloves of garlic, 2 pods hot pepper and 1/4 teaspoon alum. Pour boiling solution over this and seal immediately. Let stand 6 weeks before opening.
