Turnip Au Gratin - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. peeled, cubed turnips
    1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    1 c. milk
    3/4 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    3 Tbsp. melted margarine/butter
    1/2 c. soft breadcrumbs
    paprika
Preparation
    Cook turnips in boiling salted water to cover just until tender.
    Drain and spoon into a greased 1-quart casserole dish. Combine butter and flour in a small saucepan; cook over low heat until bubbly.
    Gradually add milk; cook, stirring constantly until smooth and thickened.
    Add cheese, salt and pepper, stirring until cheese melts.
    Spoon sauce over cooked turnips.
    Combine melted butter with breadcrumbs, tossing well; sprinkle over casserole. Sprinkle with paprika.
