Fresno Lamb Shanks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 lamb shanks
    1 tsp. dill
    1/2 tsp. oregano
    1 tsp. rosemary
    1 large clove garlic
    1 large onion, thinly sliced
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    1 c. white table wine
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Place lamb shanks in roaster.
    Add remaining ingredients. Cover roaster and
    cook 3 hours in a slow 300\u00b0 oven.
    If shanks are large, raise temperature to 325\u00b0 or 350\u00b0.
    Remove cover. Continue cooking for 30 minutes.
