Mccloud Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 medium cucumbers
    5 c. sugar
    5 tsp. pickling salt
    4 c. apple cider vinegar
    2 Tbsp. mixed pickling spice
    boiling water
Preparation
    Wash cucumbers.
    Place in a large bowl.
    Cover with boiling water.
    Cover.
    Repeat this process every day for 3 days.
    Let stand on the fourth day.
    On the fifth day, slice cucumbers and put back in bowl.
    Combine sugar, spices, salt and vinegar. Bring to a boil.
    Pour over sliced cucumbers.
    Let stand 2 days.
    Drain off liquid.
    Bring liquid mixture to a boil.
    Pour over pickles which have been put in sterilized jars.
    Place on sterilized lids and seal.
    Makes 6 half pint jars.
