Ingredients

1/2 c. butter or margarine
2 1/2 c. sugar
4 eggs
3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. soda
1 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond extract
grated peel of 1 large orange and 1 small lemon
Preparation

Beat butter or margarine until creamy.
Gradually add sugar, beating until mixture is light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Sift flour again with soda.
Beat into creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk mixed with vanilla, almond extract and grated orange and lemon peel. (Begin and end with dry ingredients.)
Pour into a greased and floured 10-inch tube cake pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Allow to cool in pan 5 minutes.
Turn out on wire rack to continue cooling.
