Stewed Okra And Tomatoes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sliced okra
1 small onion, chopped
2 Tbsp. bacon drippings or other oil
2 c. cooked or canned tomatoes
1/2 tsp. salt
pepper to taste
Preparation

Lightly brown okra and onion in the fat.
Add tomatoes and salt.
Cook over moderate heat until mixture is thick, about 20 minutes.
Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
Season with pepper and more salt, if needed.
