Bacon Bars - cooking recipe

1/2 c. shredded sharp process American cheese
6 slices crisp cooked bacon, coarsely crumbled
2 c. packaged biscuit mix
3 Tbsp. bacon drippings
Preparation

Stir cheese and bacon into dry mix.
Prepare dough according to package directions for rich biscuits, substituting bacon drippings for salad oil.
Knead as directed for rolled biscuits. Roll out to a 10 x 6-inch rectangle.
Cut into six 10-inch strips, 1-inch wide.
Cut each into thirds crosswise to make 18 bars. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake at 450\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
Yields 18 bars.
