Banana Nut Cake(Bread) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. butter
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 c. flour
    2 egg yolks, beaten
    1 c. bananas, mashed
    2 egg whites, beaten stiff
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 c. hot water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
Preparation
    Cream the butter and sugar; beat well.
    Add mashed bananas and egg yolks.
    Beat.
    Sift flour and baking powder together; set aside.
    Mix baking soda with 1/2 cup of hot water.
    Add to the creamed mixture alternately with the flour 1/2 at a time.
    Mix well.
    Add vanilla and nuts.
    Fold in gently the stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Put in two 9-inch cake pans.
    Bake for 30 to 35 minutes at 350\u00b0.
