Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sq. (2 oz.) unsweetened chocolate, melted
    1/3 c. butter
    3/4 c. sifted flour
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 c. nutmeats, coarsely cut
Preparation
    Combine chocolate and butter. Cool. Sift flour once; measure. Add baking soda and salt; sift together 3 times. Beat sugar slowly into eggs and continue beating until light and thick. Add chocolate mixture. Blend well. Add vanilla and nutmeats. Add flour. Stir until smooth. Turn into greased, shallow pan (8 x 8-inch). Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 30 minutes. When cool, cut in squares and remove from pan. Makes 16 brownies.
