Cracker Jacks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. white corn syrup
    1/2 c. margarine
    1 c. raw peanuts (optional)
    2 gal. popped popcorn
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Boil first 3 ingredients 5 minutes and remove from heat; add 1/2 teaspoon soda and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
    Pour this over 2 gallons popped popcorn.
    Spread out in a shallow pan and bake at 250\u00b0 for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
    After cooking, pour out onto wax paper to cool.
