Helen Peterman'S Sweet Dill Strips - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pt. white vinegar
    1 pt. water
    3 c. sugar
    1/2 c. salt
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. mustard seed
    1 tsp. turmeric
    1/2 tsp. alum
    piece of dill in each jar
Preparation
    Heat to boiling point.
    Cut cucumbers in strips and stand on end in jars.
    Add boiling liquid over cucumbers in jars.
    Put jars in warm water and bring to boiling point.
