3 c. (1/2-inch) rhubarb slices
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. water
1/3 c. shortening
2/3 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2/3 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Combine rhubarb, sugar and water in saucepan.
Cover and simmer 10 minutes.
