Turtle Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 box chocolate cake mix, prepared as directed on the box
1 can \"ready\" chocolate frosting
1 (14 oz.) bag Kraft caramels
1 c. (8 oz.) chocolate chips
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 c. pecans, coarsely chopped
Preparation

After preparing the cake mix, bake 1/2 of the batter at 325\u00b0 for 10 minutes in a 9 x 13-inch well-greased pan.
Remove pan from oven.
Melt the caramels in the milk over low heat, stirring occasionally, or follow microwave instructions.
Pour the caramel-milk mixture over the cake in the pan.
Sprinkle the chocolate chips and pecans evenly over this.
Finally, spread the remainder of the cake batter over all.
Return to the oven; bake 30 minutes longer.
Let cool 20 minutes.
Ice in the pan.
Cut into squares in the pan.
Serve with ice cream or Cool Whip.
