Pepper Steak - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 lb. round steak, cut 1/2 inch thick
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. Crisco
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 (8 oz.) can tomatoes
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 1/4 c. water
2 large green peppers
1/2 c. chopped onions
1 small clove garlic, crushed
Preparation

Partially freeze meat and cut into strips 3-inches long and 1/4 inch wide.
In large skillet brown meat in hot Crisco.
Drain excess fat.
Drain tomatoes, reserving liquid.
Add reserved liquid, water, onions, garlic, salt and pepper to meat in skillet. Cover and simmer 50 to 60 minutes or until thick and bubbly. Uncover and stir in Worcestershire sauce, flour and gravy mixture. Cook and stir until thick and bubbly.
Cut green pepper into 2-inch long strips and add to meat along with tomatoes (cut up).
Simmer 5 minutes longer and serve over hot rice.
