Fresh Mint Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    rind of 2 oranges
    1 c. mint leaves, crushed
    juice of 2 oranges
    juice of 6 lemons
    several drops of green food coloring
    2 qt. ginger ale
Preparation
    Bring sugar and 5 cups water to a boil in saucepan.
    Stir to dissolve sugar.
    Add orange rind and mint leaves.
    Let stand, covered, for 2 hours.
    Strain.
    Add fruit juices and food coloring.
    Mix well.
    Add ginger ale.
    Pour over crushed ice.
