Sweet And Sour Brisket - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 lb. beef roast or brisket
    2 medium onions, sliced
    1 clove garlic, minced
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. vinegar
    1 c. ketchup
    1 c. water
    1 Tbsp. salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Brown meat on all sides.
    Add onions and garlic.
    Cook until onions are tender.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Simmer until tender, 3 to 4 hours.
    Serve over rice.
