Spiced Peaches - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (29 oz.) can freestone peaches (halves or whole)
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. vinegar
    1/4 to 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    dash of nutmeg
Preparation
    Drain peach syrup into saucepan. Add sugar, vinegar and spices. Bring to a boil. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes. Pour over peaches and let stand 24 hours in the refrigerator. Could serve on a lettuce leaf and fill centers with a spoonful of currant jelly.
