Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 1/2 c. flour (use part to make paste)
2 oz. red food coloring
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 Tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Sift flour.
Cream shortening, sugar and eggs.
Make paste from red food coloring and some flour.
Add to creamed mixture.
Sift and measure cocoa.
Sift again with remaining flour.
Add salt, vanilla and buttermilk.
Add alternately with flour mixture. Beat well.
