Basic Cake Recipe - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. self-rising flour
1 1/4 c. sweet milk

Preparation

Cream together the shortening and sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each one.
Add vanilla.
Add flour and milk alternately until all is used.
Bake in 3 greased and floured cake pans.
(I use 8-inch pans.)
Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 30 minutes or until done.
Frost with your favorite icing.
