Fruit Skillet Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 (No. 2 1/2) can fruit cocktail (reserve 1 1/4 cups liquid)
1 egg
1 pkg. white cake mix
2 Tbsp. shortening
1/4 c. brown sugar
Preparation

Blend cake mix, fruit liquid and egg.
Preheat an 11-inch iron skillet, then melt shortening in it.
Pour cake batter into the skillet.
Partly cover and cook over low heat for about 15 to 20 minutes until top of cake is dry to the touch.
Uncover; add drained fruit.
Sprinkle with brown sugar.
Keep warm until serving time.
Serves 8 to 10.
