Tortilla Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    1 onion, chopped
    1 Tbsp. oil
    4 cans chicken broth
    1 can (or 2 c.) corn
    1 can diced green chiles
    1 1/2 c. cooked chicken
    2 carrots, diced
    juice of 1 lime
    2 tsp. chili powder (adjust to taste - tabasco sauce may also be substituted)
    shredded cheddar cheese
    tortilla chips
    diced avocado
Preparation
    Saute garlic and onion in oil until translucent.
    Add broth, corn, chiles, chicken, and carrots.
    Bring to a low boil; simmer, stirring occasionally.
    Add lime juice and chili powder; stir and simmer until heated through.
    Salt to taste.
