Old Fashioned Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening (part butter)
    3 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    4 1/2 c. flour, sifted
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and vanilla and beat well.
    Sift dry ingredients and add gradually to shortening mixture.
    Chill.
    Roll out on floured board and cut into desired shapes.
    Bake in 400\u00b0 oven about 12 minutes.
    Makes about 8 dozen.
