German Purtzels - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 1/2 c. flour
2 c. lukewarm water
1/2 c. sugar
2 pkg. dry yeast
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1/3 c. melted shortening
1 c. raisins
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Mix lukewarm water, sugar and yeast in a bowl.
Add salt and 2 cups of the flour; beat with mixer.
Add eggs and melted shortening; mix.
Add 4 1/2 cups flour, raisins and vanilla. Allow to rest about 20 minutes.
Spoon into real hot grease and brown; drain and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
