Vanilla Pudding(For Pie Filling) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. milk
    3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
    2/3 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 tsp. cornstarch
    1 Tbsp. margarine
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    coconut (optional)
Preparation
    Mix sugar, salt and cornstarch.
    Gradually add to milk in saucepan (thick pan works best).
    Cook over medium heat until starts to thicken.
    Take 1 cup of mixture and mix egg yolks into it (slowly to keep eggs from cooking).
    Pour back into pan.
    Continue cooking until thickens like pudding.
    Remove from heat.
    Add margarine and vanilla.
