Icebox Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. sliced cucumbers
    2 large onions
    4 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    1 1/2 tsp. mustard seed
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1/2 c. salt
    1 qt. vinegar
Preparation
    Slice cucumbers and onions.
    Put in layers in a jar or container.
    Mix liquid and seasonings.
    Pour over slices.
    Store for 5 days before using.
